Key Responsibilities for Tax Manager:
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize SoFi's tax position and minimize liabilities
- Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns ensuring compliance with all regulations
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to support tax planning initiatives and decision-making processes
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and authorities, addressing any inquiries or audits effectively
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and disclosures related to taxes
- Stay current on tax laws and regulations, advising leadership on potential impacts and opportunities for SoFi
- Provide guidance and support on tax-related matters to various business units within the organization
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and planning within the financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of US tax laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively
- Experience managing tax audits and working with external tax advisors
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Desired Skills:
- Advanced degree in Taxation or related field
- Experience with tax technology tools and software for data analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of international tax regulations and implications
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Tax Manager position at SoFi in Boston, Massachusetts is $110,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience.
