Position Summary
Orrick is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Business Development Manager - New Business to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States. As a key member of our Business Development team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities, with a primary focus on expanding our client base and revenue streams. You will work closely with attorneys and other stakeholders to develop and execute strategic business development plans tailored to specific industry sectors and client needs. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented individual with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential new clients and target markets.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to generate new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective client organizations.
- Collaborate with attorneys to prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing.
- Track and report on business development activities and results using CRM tools.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitive landscape.
- Participate in virtual networking events and industry conferences (potentially occasional travel).
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials and thought leadership content.
- Effectively utilize remote collaboration tools to maintain seamless communication with the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Proven track record of successfully generating and closing new business.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Must be located in the United States and authorized to work in the US.
- Ability to maintain a professional home office environment conducive to focused work.
Technical Requirements
- Dedicated home office space free from distractions.
- High-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 50 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps.
- Reliable computer equipment, including a webcam, microphone, and headset.
- Must be available during core business hours (Pacific Time preferred, but flexibility is possible).
- Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.
Desired Skills
- Experience in the legal industry or with professional services firms.
- Knowledge of specific industry sectors relevant to Orrick's practice areas (e.g., technology, energy & infrastructure, financial services).

Compensation & Benefits
