Position Summary

Centerbase is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Intellectual Property Counsel to join our growing legal team. This is a fully REMOTE position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States. As Compliance Intellectual Property Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support on a wide range of intellectual property and compliance matters, ensuring Centerbase’s adherence to relevant laws and regulations. You will play a crucial role in protecting our intellectual property assets and mitigating legal risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and guidance on intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Develop and implement intellectual property protection strategies, including patent prosecution, trademark registration, and trade secret management.
• Negotiate, draft, and review intellectual property agreements, such as licenses, assignments, and confidentiality agreements.
• Monitor and enforce Centerbase’s intellectual property rights, including investigating and addressing infringement issues.
• Advise on data privacy and security compliance matters, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of legal issues.
• Provide training and education to employees on intellectual property and compliance matters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal and business issues.
• Manage outside counsel as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to a state bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on intellectual property and compliance matters.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law.
• Experience with data privacy and security regulations.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to maintain a dedicated and professional home office environment.

Technical Requirements

• High-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload).
• Reliable computer and headset for video conferencing.
• Private and quiet workspace free from distractions.
• Ability to work during standard business hours in the [Eastern/Central/Mountain/Pacific - specify] time zone.

Desired Skills

• Experience with software as a service (SaaS) industry.
• Experience with intellectual property litigation.
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification.
• Familiarity with common remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000, commensurate with experience.
