Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Risk Management Specialist - Intellectual Property to join our growing Legal team. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of Zapier's intellectual property compliance programs. This position requires a strong understanding of intellectual property law, risk management principles, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a distributed team environment. You will work closely with various departments across Zapier to ensure compliance with applicable intellectual property laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of Zapier’s intellectual property compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments related to intellectual property, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret risks.
• Monitor and analyze intellectual property-related legislation and regulations to identify potential compliance risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, marketing, and product teams, to ensure compliance with intellectual property policies.
• Assist in the development and delivery of intellectual property compliance training programs for employees.
• Manage and maintain intellectual property records, including trademarks, copyrights, and licenses.
• Investigate and respond to intellectual property infringement claims.
• Prepare reports and presentations on intellectual property compliance matters.
• Support the Legal team with intellectual property-related due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of Zapier’s overall compliance program.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, law, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or intellectual property.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property law, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret principles.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and developing compliance programs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Proven experience working effectively in a remote environment.

Technical Requirements

To ensure a seamless remote work experience, you will need:

• A dedicated home office space free from distractions.
• A reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps and download speed of 25 Mbps.
• A computer with a modern operating system (Windows 10 or macOS) and sufficient processing power.
• A webcam and headset for video conferencing.
• The ability to work primarily during US business hours, with flexibility to accommodate occasional meetings outside of those hours.
• Familiarity with remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.

Desired Skills

• Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or other relevant certification.
• Experience working in the technology industry.
• Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations.
• Experience using project management software.
• Experience with IP asset management software.

Compensation & Benefits
