Key Responsibilities for Deputy Head:
- Support the Head of Nursery in managing the day-to-day operations and overall strategic direction of the nursery chain
- Lead and mentor a team of passionate early years practitioners to deliver outstanding care and educational programmes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and uphold the highest levels of health, safety, and safeguarding practices
- Collaborate with parents, stakeholders, and external agencies to promote effective communication and partnership working
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery's curriculum, policies, and procedures to enhance the overall quality of provision
Required Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior leadership role within an early years setting
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Ofsted requirements
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
- Enhanced DBS check and valid paediatric first aid certificate
Desired Skills:
- Experience in staff recruitment, training, and performance management
- Ability to implement innovative teaching practices and support the professional development of staff
- Understanding of budget management and resource allocation within a nursery setting
- Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusion best practices
- Proficiency in IT systems and software relevant to nursery management
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Deputy Head position at Nursery Chains is £28,000 to £35,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
