Position Summary

Airtable is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full Stack Engineering Manager to lead our AI/ML Systems team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for guiding the development, deployment, and scaling of our AI and Machine Learning infrastructure and services. You will lead a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will also work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions that leverage the power of AI/ML to enhance the Airtable platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of full stack engineers focused on AI/ML systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to define product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable and reliable AI/ML systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in our engineering processes and practices.
  • Ensure high code quality and maintainability through code reviews and testing.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and ownership within the team.
  • Participate in virtual team building activities and contribute to a positive and inclusive remote work environment.
  • Actively participate in remote meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders across different time zones.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on full stack development.
  • 2+ years of experience in a management or lead role.
  • Proven experience building and deploying AI/ML systems at scale.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
  • Must reside in the United States.

Technical Requirements

As a fully remote employee, you are expected to maintain a suitable home office environment. The following technical requirements apply:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload).
  • Dedicated workspace free from distractions.
  • Company-provided laptop and peripherals.
  • Ability to participate in meetings during Pacific Time business hours (PST/PDT).

Desired Skills

  • Experience with specific AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Experience with data engineering and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Airtable's platform and ecosystem.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this remote position is $200,000 - $260,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Airtable offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
