Key Responsibilities For Fund Accountant:
- Perform daily reconciliation of fund activity, including cash, positions, and market values
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for investment funds
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reports
- Participate in the audit process and address audit inquiries
- Monitor fund performance and conduct variance analysis
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in fund accounting records
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and accounting standards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification or progress towards obtaining CPA
- 2+ years of experience in fund accounting or related financial roles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Desired Skills:
- Experience with fund accounting software such as Advent Geneva or Investran
- Knowledge of alternative investment products and structures
- Familiarity with SEC regulations and compliance requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Fund Accountant position at Grant Thornton in Columbus, Ohio is $60,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
