Position Summary

BlueScope Steel is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist to join our remote team. In this role, you will provide technical assistance to employees, troubleshoot IT issues, and ensure seamless operation of our systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote technical support to BlueScope Steel employees, resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
  • Utilize ticketing systems to log, track, and resolve IT support requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for future reference.
  • Educate end-users on best practices for IT security and system usage.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 0 to 10 years of experience in IT support or a related technical role.
  • Proficiency in technical troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Experience using ticketing systems to manage and resolve support requests.
  • Basic IT knowledge, including familiarity with operating systems, Microsoft Office, and remote support tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Required Education

A Post graduate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required for this position.

Desired Skills

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar.
  • Experience working in a remote IT support role.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based applications and services.

Compensation & Benefits

BlueScope Steel offers a competitive salary range of $61,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
