Position Summary
TransferWise is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Legal Technology Consultant with a focus on Intellectual Property (IP) to join our growing legal team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and managing technology solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our IP management and protection processes. You will be a key player in shaping the future of our legal technology strategy and ensuring that TransferWise remains at the forefront of innovation in the financial technology sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of legal technology solutions focused on Intellectual Property management, including patent portfolio management, trademark monitoring, and copyright protection.
- Collaborate with the legal team, engineering, and product teams to understand their needs and identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve workflows.
- Develop and maintain IP technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with the overall legal and business strategy.
- Manage relationships with legal technology vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring ongoing support and maintenance.
- Configure and customize legal technology solutions to meet the specific needs of TransferWise.
- Provide training and support to legal team members on the use of legal technology tools.
- Develop and maintain documentation for legal technology processes and procedures.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for legal technology within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Legal Studies).
- 5+ years of experience as a Legal Technology Consultant or similar role, with a strong focus on Intellectual Property.
- Deep understanding of IP management processes and best practices.
- Experience implementing and managing legal technology solutions, such as IP management systems, patent searching tools, and trademark monitoring platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
- Must be able to work remotely effectively, with a dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection.
Technical Requirements
As a fully remote role, the following technical requirements apply:
- Dedicated Home Office: You must have a designated workspace free from distractions to ensure productivity and confidentiality.
- Reliable Internet: A high-speed internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps and download speed of 50 Mbps is required.
- Equipment: TransferWise will provide a home office stipend to help you set up your workspace with the necessary equipment (e.g., laptop, monitor, headset).
- Time Zone: While we offer flexible working hours, some overlap with the Eastern Time Zone (ET) may be required for team meetings and collaboration.
Desired Skills
- Experience with specific IP management software platforms (e.g., Anaqua, CPA Global, Clarivate).
- Familiarity with legal research databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile).
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of intellectual property law.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this fully remote Lead Legal Technology Consultant - Intellectual Property position is $140,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience and location within the USA.
