Position Summary

Zoom is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead QA Automation Engineer to join our Data Platforms team. This is a fully REMOTE position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States. As a Lead QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the automation efforts for our data platforms, ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our data pipelines, data warehouses, and data analytics systems. You will work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and product managers to define test strategies, design and implement automated tests, and drive continuous improvement in our QA processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks and test scripts for our data platforms.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Execute automated tests, analyze test results, and report defects.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of CI/CD pipelines for data platforms.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA automation engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous learning.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on test automation code.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in test automation and data quality.
  • Work closely with remote team members across different time zones to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in virtual team building activities to maintain a strong remote team culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation, with a focus on data platforms.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or other relevant languages.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Pytest, JUnit, or TestNG.
  • Experience with testing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data analytics systems.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data quality principles.
  • Experience with SQL and data manipulation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Technical Requirements

As a fully remote employee, you are expected to maintain a professional home office environment. The following technical requirements are necessary for this role:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download, 20 Mbps upload).
  • Dedicated workspace free from distractions.
  • Company-provided laptop and necessary software. A home office stipend will be provided to assist with setting up your workspace.
  • Ability to overlap working hours with Pacific Time (PT) for team meetings and collaboration.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Hive.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience mentoring or leading other QA engineers.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this REMOTE position is $140,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and location within the USA. Zoom offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
