Position Summary

Jones Day is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Technical Writer - Social Media to join our dynamic and growing remote Digital Marketing team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the USA. The Lead Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality documentation, including user guides, API documentation, tutorials, and other technical content related to our social media platforms and digital marketing initiatives. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and marketing professionals to ensure our documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and user-friendly. As a Lead, you will also provide guidance and mentorship to other technical writers on the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for our social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
• Write clear, concise, and accurate user guides, API documentation, tutorials, and other technical content.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketing professionals to understand product features and functionality.
• Conduct thorough research and gather information from various sources, including product specifications, design documents, and user feedback.
• Ensure documentation is consistent with brand guidelines and style guides.
• Edit and proofread documentation for accuracy, clarity, and grammar.
• Manage the documentation lifecycle, including planning, writing, reviewing, and publishing.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other technical writers on the team.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation standards and processes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in social media and digital marketing.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and collaborate effectively with remote team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a technical writer, with a focus on social media or digital marketing.
• Proven ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and API documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work effectively in a remote environment.
• Must have reliable high-speed internet access.

Technical Requirements

To ensure a productive and seamless remote work experience, the following technical requirements apply:

• Dedicated Home Office: A quiet and professional workspace free from distractions.
• High-Speed Internet: A stable and reliable internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps and download speed of 50 Mbps.
• Equipment Provided: Jones Day provides a company laptop and necessary software. A home office stipend will be provided to assist with setting up your workspace.
• Time Zone: While we offer flexible working hours, preference will be given to candidates who can overlap with Eastern Time Zone business hours (9am-5pm EST) for meetings and collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this fully remote position is $90,000 - $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
