Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer role at MGM Resorts International is a remote, full‑time position that supports the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems across the organization’s diverse portfolio of resorts and facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3‑D models and 2‑D drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural integrity, thermal performance, and vibration characteristics of mechanical components.
- Lead product development initiatives from concept through prototype testing, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budget constraints.
- Coordinate prototyping activities, including material selection, fabrication, and assembly of test units.
- Collaborate with electrical, civil, and architectural engineers to integrate mechanical systems within complex building designs.
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, test reports, and compliance certifications.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 14 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the hospitality, construction, or related industries.
- Proficiency in mechanical engineering CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated expertise in finite element analysis for structural and thermal assessments.
- Hands‑on experience with product development cycles and rapid prototyping techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on delivering reliable, high‑performance solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining effective collaboration with distributed teams.
Required Education
A post‑graduate degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
Desired Skills
- Experience with building information modeling (BIM) tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, ISO, and local building codes.

Compensation & Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary range of $59,000 to $126,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
