Position Summary

Compass Group is seeking a skilled Network Technician to join our remote IT team. This role focuses on maintaining and securing our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, and mitigating cybersecurity threats. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network security, firewall management, and intrusion detection, along with a strong analytical mindset to address complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain network security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential risks.
• Configure and troubleshoot network hardware, including routers, switches, and load balancers.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security policies and procedures in compliance with industry standards.
• Respond to and resolve network-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
• Document network configurations, security protocols, and incident reports for internal audits.
• Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks.

Required Qualifications

• 5 to 12 years of hands-on experience in network security and administration.
• Proficiency in network security, cybersecurity, intrusion detection, security analysis, and firewall management.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and other networking protocols.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Required Education

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required.

Desired Skills

• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with cloud-based networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Scripting or automation skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).

Compensation & Benefits

Compass Group offers a competitive salary range of $58,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
