Key Responsibilities for Property Accountant:
- Manage property accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries for assigned properties
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and budgeting reports for property portfolios
- Perform reconciliations of property operating expenses, rent rolls, and tenant payments
- Assist in annual budget preparation and forecasting for property assets
- Coordinate with property managers and external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Conduct regular audits of property financial records to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel for financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Desired Skills:
- CPA or CFA certification is a plus
- Experience with Yardi or other property management software
- Knowledge of lease agreements and property tax regulations
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Problem-solving abilities to address complex accounting issues

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Property Accountant position at Xero in Dallas, Texas is $60,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
