Position Summary
Chime is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regulatory Corporate Counsel - Employment Law to join our growing legal team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the United States. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal guidance and support on a wide range of employment law matters, ensuring Chime's compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will partner closely with HR, Compliance, and other stakeholders to develop and implement policies and procedures that foster a positive and compliant workplace. This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented individual with a strong understanding of employment law and a passion for supporting a dynamic and rapidly growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and guidance on all aspects of employment law, including but not limited to hiring, termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, leave of absence, and employee relations.
- Draft, review, and revise employment-related policies, agreements, and handbooks to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct internal investigations of employee complaints and allegations, and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Represent Chime in employment-related legal proceedings, including administrative hearings, mediations, and litigation.
- Monitor and analyze developments in employment law and regulations, and advise on potential impacts to Chime.
- Partner with HR and other stakeholders to develop and deliver training programs on employment law compliance.
- Manage outside counsel as needed.
- Contribute to other legal projects and initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to and in good standing with at least one state bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing employment law, either in-house or at a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
- Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
Technical Requirements
As a fully remote employee, you will be required to maintain a professional and functional home office environment:
- Dedicated workspace free from distractions.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload).
- Company-provided laptop and peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset).
- Ability to participate in video conferences and online meetings.
- Must be able to work within Pacific Time Zone business hours.

- Experience with employment law issues in the financial services or technology industry.
- Experience with international employment law.
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
- Experience using remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this remote position is $180,000 - $240,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
