Position Summary

Actionstep is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research BI Developer to join our growing Business Intelligence team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the USA. As a Research BI Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining BI solutions to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design and implement data models, create insightful dashboards and reports, and conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends and opportunities. This role is focused on exploratory data analysis and building proof of concepts that can be used by other members of the BI team to build out more formal data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain data models and ETL processes using SQL and other relevant tools.
• Create interactive dashboards and reports using BI platforms such as Power BI (preferred), Tableau, or Looker.
• Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct research on emerging BI technologies and trends.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data models, ETL processes, and reports.
• Work closely with other members of the BI team to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to a collaborative remote work environment.
• Present data insights and recommendations to stakeholders through virtual presentations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a BI developer role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling concepts.
• Experience with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a remote work setting.
• Must reside in the USA.

Technical Requirements

To ensure a productive and collaborative remote work experience, the following technical requirements apply:

• Home Office Setup: A dedicated and quiet workspace free from distractions.
• Internet Speed: Reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps and download speed of 50 Mbps.
• Equipment: Actionstep will provide a laptop and necessary software. A home office stipend will be provided for purchasing additional equipment such as a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
• Time Zone: While we offer flexible working hours, some overlap with Eastern Time (ET) is required for team meetings and collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this fully remote Research BI Developer position is $90,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Actionstep also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
