Position Summary

VMware is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Engineer to join our team, focusing on the Small to Medium Business (SMB) market. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States. As a Sales Engineer, you will be a technical advisor and advocate for our products and solutions, working closely with our sales team to identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions that drive business value. You will play a crucial role in the sales cycle, providing technical expertise, conducting product demonstrations, and building strong relationships with our SMB customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the sales team to identify and qualify opportunities within the SMB market.
  • Conduct in-depth technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase VMware's solutions.
  • Develop and deliver customized solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of SMB customers.
  • Respond to technical inquiries and provide expert advice to customers and prospects.
  • Create and deliver proof-of-concepts (POCs) to demonstrate the value of VMware solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key technical stakeholders within customer organizations.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest VMware technologies and industry trends.
  • Provide feedback to product management and engineering teams based on customer interactions.
  • Contribute to the development of sales tools and collateral.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings and collaborate effectively with remote colleagues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer or similar technical role.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization, cloud computing, and related technologies.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a remote environment, demonstrating strong self-discipline and time management skills.

Technical Requirements

To ensure a productive and seamless remote work experience, the following technical requirements must be met:

  • Dedicated home office space free from distractions.
  • High-speed internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps and download speed of 50 Mbps.
  • Reliable computer equipment including a laptop or desktop with sufficient processing power and memory.
  • Company-provided home office stipend to assist with setting up your workspace.
  • Must be available to work during standard business hours in the Pacific Time Zone.
  • Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools such as Zoom, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this fully remote Sales Engineer position is $120,000 - $160,000, depending on experience and location. VMware offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
