Position Summary

HubSpot is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Virtual Law Firm Partner - Risk Management to join our growing legal team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal and regulatory risks across various areas of our business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies, ensuring compliance and protecting HubSpot's interests. This role requires a proactive, strategic thinker with a deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations impacting a global SaaS company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management programs across HubSpot’s various business units.
• Identify and assess potential legal and regulatory risks, including data privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and consumer protection.
• Advise senior management on risk mitigation strategies and best practices.
• Draft and review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct internal audits and investigations to identify potential compliance issues.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations and assess their impact on HubSpot's business.
• Provide legal guidance and support to cross-functional teams on risk-related matters.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and consultants as needed.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs on risk management and compliance topics.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to a collaborative remote work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to a state bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on risk management and compliance.
• Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations impacting a global SaaS company, including data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), cybersecurity, and intellectual property.
• Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a remote environment and proficiency in using collaboration tools.

Technical Requirements

To be successful in this remote role, you will need the following:

• Dedicated home office space free from distractions.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload).
• Company-provided laptop and necessary software. A home office stipend may be provided for additional equipment.
• Ability to work during core business hours in the Eastern Time Zone (ET).
• Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.

Desired Skills

• Experience working in the SaaS industry.
• Certification in risk management or compliance (e.g., Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)).
• Familiarity with HubSpot's platform and services.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this Senior Virtual Law Firm Partner - Risk Management position is $220,000 - $300,000, commensurate with experience and location. HubSpot offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
