Position Summary

Gunderson Dettmer is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this fully remote role, you will be a key contributor to the development and maintenance of our mobile platforms, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for our clients and internal users. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build and deploy high-quality, scalable, and reliable mobile applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive and performant user interfaces for our mobile applications using modern frontend technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate user stories and wireframes into functional and visually appealing features.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across different mobile devices and platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies and trends, and proactively identify opportunities to improve our codebase and development processes.
• Contribute to the development of our component library and style guide to ensure consistency across our mobile applications.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to a collaborative remote work environment.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices and data privacy standards.
• Participate in virtual team building activities to foster a strong remote team culture.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in frontend development, with a focus on mobile platforms.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React Native, or Flutter.
• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or MobX.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and mobile data fetching techniques.
• Experience with mobile testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote setting.
• Must be located within the United States.

Technical Requirements

As a fully remote employee, you will need to maintain a suitable home office environment and meet the following technical requirements:

• A dedicated workspace free from distractions.
• A reliable, high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload).
• A modern computer with sufficient processing power and memory to run development tools.
• A webcam and microphone for virtual meetings.
• Adherence to Gunderson Dettmer’s IT security policies.
• Ability to work primarily within US business hours (Pacific Time preferred).

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this fully remote Staff Frontend Engineer - Mobile Platforms position is $160,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience and location.
